Mid-hinged Octagonal Pole

Derwent column with manual winch for easy raising and lowering

Overview - mid-hinged octagonal steel lighting columns

In 1981, Valmont Stainton's first hinged product was launched. Since then Valmont Stainton have developed the most comprehensive range of hinged products in the industry.

The Derwent range of mid-hinged octagonal steel columns come in a range of sizes from 6-18m covering a vast array of headweights suitable for various bracket designs.

The mid-hinge pole acts on a simple see-saw principle with the column lowering into its own footprint.

Raising and lowering operation is achieved by either a simple rope for lower capacities or by a manual winch system where larger headweights are required. The headweight table below provides details of which lowering mechanisms is required with each headload capacity.
